sunny sunday

Yesterday was gorgeous and sunny here, so we decided to spend most of the day bumming around the Sunset.

We had a delicious lunch on the patio at Java Beach Cafe, then poped into Mollusk Surf Shop and General Store for a little look-see.

Mollusk has some really cool tee shirts and the softest hoodies (Drew has this one, and he wears it constantly). They also carry some sweet books, hip art and all of the surf gear a guy/gal could need.

I picked up a pair of board shorts by Tallow for the summer and this tee shirt.

General Store has the most thoughtfully curated mix of vintage and new. From housewares, to jewelry, electronics and vintage clothing—I love everything. One of my favorite things about this store has to be the garden, complete with greenhouse, where customers are encouraged to bring a coffee and chill for a while ... which is exactly what we did.

say what?!

Steven Alan is opening a boutique in San Francisco? That’s right! I just learned from Refinery29 that Alan's first SF boutique, located at 445 Hayes Street, opens tomorrow. Great news, right?!

Alan’s pieces, a mix of simple silhouettes and classic Americana, have been a staple in the closets of east coasters for over a decade and I’m sure there are lots of excited ladies and gents here in the Bay.

Can’t make it to the new SF shop? Don’t fret, you can check out the full article/slideshow on Refinery29 and you can always shop online—this is 2011, after all.

i need ...

one of these cookies, right now! I was checking out A Cup of Jo, and started drooling when I came across this picture. How ridiculously delicious do these cookies from A Tender Crumb look? They remind me of the chocolate chip cookies from Piccino's coffee bar ... they have the BEST coffee too. So good!
